Western Montana Equine Rescue & Rehabilitation an all volunteer charitable 501(c)(3) organization. 

 

WMERR offers a variety of volunteer opportunities that help us help the equines.  Submit an application today to become part of a generous, dedicated group of invaluable volunteers.

 

How do I apply?

  • Download and fill out the Volunteer Application. Mail or scan and e-mail to us.

  • After reviewing your application, a representative will contact you to schedule an interview.

  • All volunteers accepted into our program must complete an orientation session prior to their first scheduled assignment.

 

What sort of time commitment is involved?

Time is variable depending on the project one accepts. Events may require 4-6 hour shifts in a day. Administrative work may require 3-6 hours a week. Special projects may need 4-8 hours a month. Committees meet once a month (1 hour sessions).

 

Who can volunteer?

  • WMERR accepts volunteers of all experience levels.

  • Independent volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Children between the ages of 14-18 are required to volunteer with a parent or guardian. There is an exception granted for youth groups. School classes, 4-H clubs, Girl & Boy Scout Troops, etc. may apply to volunteer for a project. Each group is required to have one adult supervisor per three youth

 

Can my company, organization or club volunteer together?

  • Yes, please contact us by e-mail VolunteerWMERR@gmail.com. Working with the equines on site is currently not available but we have many administrative projects that need attention. 

  • Assistance with photography, videos, marketing, database, etc......all help the equines.

 

What do volunteers do?

  • Assist board members with specific projects.

  • Serve on committees w/board members (Fund Raising, Event Planning, Public Relations, Finance, Grant Writing, Merchandise etc.).

  • Work Events: Need help with set up, take down, greet the public and represent WMERR. (1-2 board members are always on-hand at each event).

 

Administrative Tasks

WMERR is searching for volunteers with attention to detail, organizational and excellent communications skills to assist with: WMERR Forms review and update, donor database mailings, special event preparation, monthly newsletter, etc.

Your administrative talents contribute greatly to the organization. Helping WMERR to help more people and their equines through improved back office systems,  marketing and fund raising.
